Fatal Collision in Shamli District

A tragic incident occurred in the Shamli district's Kairana area, where an elderly woman and her three-year-old granddaughter lost their lives after their car collided with a divider and overturned. Four other family members sustained injuries in the accident.


Authorities reported the details on Monday, stating that the collision took place on Sunday night near Mavi village along the Panipat-Khatima highway.


According to Dharmendra Singh, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Kairana, the victims were returning to Panipat, Haryana, from Haridwar when the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to the crash.


The deceased have been identified as Lakshmi Devi, aged 70, and her granddaughter, Vanika, aged three. The SHO further mentioned that the injured family members were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and legal proceedings are underway.
