Following the accident, local residents expressed their anger by staging protests at the scene. During the demonstrations, the crowd vandalized the involved bus and set fire to another DTC bus. Reports indicate that the incident was reported around 9:45 AM, with a caller stating that a speeding DTC bus coming from Najafgarh struck several pedestrians on the Najafgarh-Nangloi road.

Footage from the accident site shows extensive damage to the rear of the bus, particularly around the bumper and undercarriage. Parts of the front section of the bus were also hanging loose, with cables or wires dangling near the damaged area. Additionally, a nearby scooter was severely damaged, with its front end crushed and the rear-view mirror shattered.
