Tragic Bus Accident in Uttar Pradesh Claims Six Lives

Devastating Road Mishap in Unnao District

A heartbreaking road accident has occurred in Unnao district, Uttar Pradesh. Early Tuesday morning, a severe collision on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway resulted in the deaths of six individuals, while 21 others sustained serious injuries. The incident took place when a double-decker AC bus, traveling from Delhi to Bihar, lost control and overturned on the expressway.

According to police reports, the accident happened at kilometer marker 262 in the Auras police station area around 5:15 AM, near the village of Nibhakheda. The bus, carrying approximately 50 passengers, flipped over after the driver seemingly dozed off at the wheel.

Eyewitness Accounts of the Incident

Sanjeev Kushwaha, the Station Officer of Auras, confirmed that among the deceased were a sub-inspector and a prisoner who were on board the bus. The sub-inspector has been identified as Ramchandra. Officials stated that Ramchandra was returning to Delhi from Siwan with the prisoner Chhatrapal when the tragic event occurred. The severely injured passengers, including three police officers, have been referred to a trauma center in Lucknow, while others are receiving treatment at the district hospital.

Witnesses reported that the bus was traveling at a high speed when it suddenly collided with the divider and overturned. Following the crash, the vehicle became lodged against a roadside railing, causing several passengers to be thrown out of the windows. Police are currently working to identify the deceased.

Emergency services and police arrived promptly at the scene to assist the injured, transporting them to nearby government hospitals.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his sorrow over the fatalities resulting from the road accident on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Unnao district. In a post on social media, the Chief Minister stated, "The loss of lives in this tragic road accident is profoundly heartbreaking and soul-shattering. My condolences go out to the grieving families affected by this tragedy.
