Tragic Bus Accident in Tamil Nadu Claims Nine Lives
Fatal Collision in Cuddalore
On Wednesday, a tragic incident involving a government bus in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, resulted in the deaths of at least nine individuals, including five men and four women, according to police reports.
Authorities stated that the bus, which was traveling from Tiruchirappalli to Chennai, lost a tire, causing it to crash through the divider and collide with oncoming vehicles.
In addition to the fatalities, four people, including two children, sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at a government hospital.
Government Response and Compensation
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin expressed profound sorrow over the incident and extended condolences to the families affected. He announced a compensation of three lakh rupees for the relatives of the deceased from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, while those injured will receive one lakh rupees each.
The Chief Minister also instructed officials to ensure that the injured receive the best possible medical care at the government hospital.
