Tragic Bus Accident in Rajasthan Leaves Over 20 Injured
Devastating Incident in Ajmer
A horrifying accident occurred early this morning in Ajmer, Rajasthan, when a private sleeper bus overturned, resulting in the death of the driver and injuries to more than 20 passengers.
Ajmer, March 6, 2026 — The bus, which was en route from Ahmedabad to Sikar for a wedding, lost control and flipped after colliding with a divider on the highway, right in front of the Adarsh Nagar police station. According to initial investigations, the driver, Vijay Singh (55), suffered a sudden heart attack, causing him to lose control of the steering wheel.
The bus was traveling at high speed when it overturned, leading to panic among the passengers. The driver tragically died at the scene, while a total of 23 passengers, including relatives of the bride, sustained serious injuries, with many suffering from head, face, and body trauma. All injured individuals were promptly taken to Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Hospital in Ajmer, where their conditions are reported to be stable, although some remain in critical condition.
Police officer Manish Badgujar indicated that the primary cause of the accident appears to be a silent heart attack or a sudden lapse in the driver's attention. The incident took place around 3:30 AM on Friday.
This tragic event raises concerns once again about road safety, the health checks for drivers, and the need for vigilance during long-distance bus journeys. What began as a celebration turned into a moment of mourning.
Authorities have initiated relief efforts, and an investigation is ongoing. We wish for the swift recovery of all those injured.
