A devastating road accident occurred early Wednesday morning in the Karol Bagh area of Delhi. A double-decker bus, which was en route from Jaipur to Delhi, overturned near the Jhandewalan Temple. This tragic event resulted in the immediate deaths of two passengers, while 23 others sustained injuries.


Emergency Response and Casualties

According to the Delhi Fire Service, the bus lost control and flipped over close to the temple. Reports indicate that there were at least 25 passengers on board. The fire department received an emergency call at 1:08 AM, prompting the dispatch of two fire engines to the scene to initiate rescue operations. Officials confirmed that the injured individuals were transported to various hospitals for medical treatment.


Eyewitness Account

An eyewitness, an auto-rickshaw driver named Deepak, informed a news outlet that he believed around 15 people might have been injured. He recounted, "We tried to rescue as many people as we could. A child and a woman were trapped under the bus, and we managed to pull them out." Deepak suggested that the accident might have been caused by the driver falling asleep at the wheel.
