Fatal Incident in Ghazni Province
Kabul: A tragic accident involving a passenger bus in Ghazni province, eastern Afghanistan, resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left 13 others injured, as reported by provincial police spokesperson Khalid Sarhadi.
The incident occurred early Friday morning on the main road in the Qarabagh district. Authorities are currently searching for a missing child, according to reports from Xinhua News Agency.
Sarhadi attributed the accident to reckless driving and confirmed that an investigation is in progress.
Earlier, on March 28, a mini-bus accident in Laghman province resulted in one death and injuries to ten others when the vehicle collided with two motorcycles, including a three-wheeled rickshaw, due to careless driving.
The provincial police office stated that the injured, which included five children and two women, were promptly taken to the hospital for treatment. They urged drivers to adhere to traffic regulations to prevent such incidents.
On March 1, another highway accident in Jawzjan province claimed three lives and injured six others when two speeding vehicles collided due to reckless driving.
The provincial police reported that both drivers and a female passenger died at the scene, while the injured were transported to a nearby medical facility. Authorities reiterated the importance of following traffic rules to avoid further accidents.
Road safety remains a significant concern in Afghanistan, where poor road conditions, reckless driving, and insufficient safety measures contribute to frequent and deadly accidents.
