A heartbreaking incident has emerged from Patna district in Bihar, where a boat capsized in the Ganga River near the renowned Umanath Ghat. Strong Winds Cause Boat to Capsize
Reports indicate that the tragedy occurred due to sudden weather changes and strong winds. The Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of the flood subdivision, Ramkrishna, confirmed that there were 14 people on the boat. The small vessel lost its balance and overturned in the river as a result of the fierce winds. Following the incident, seven individuals were rescued with the help of nearby boats.

As of now, two bodies have been recovered from the river, while five individuals remain unaccounted for, prompting ongoing search and rescue operations. Eyewitnesses described the chaos that ensued when the boat capsized, with cries for help echoing as seven people were saved, but others sank into the deep waters.

In response to the situation, the district administration alerted the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) to expedite the search for the missing individuals. SDRF teams equipped with advanced tools and motorboats have reached Umanath Ghat to conduct extensive search operations in collaboration with local divers.
