According to reports from a local journalist, the incident occurred around 10:30 AM local time on Saturday, with the speedboat carrying Indian tourists capsizing near Hon May Rut Ngoai Island.



Vietnamese officials have confirmed that 15 Indian tourists lost their lives when the speedboat capsized due to rough sea conditions while returning from Hon May Rut Ngoai Island to An Thoi Port. The boat was carrying 32 Indian tourists along with four Vietnamese crew members. Local authorities reported that 21 individuals were rescued, many of whom suffered injuries and were taken to hospitals for medical care.


Rescue operations commenced promptly, aided by nearby vessels, and were later supported by Vietnam's border guards, navy, and coast guard. Government Response

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow over the incident, noting that the victims were employees of a private mobile phone company who were in Vietnam for an annual meeting.
