Tragic Axe Murder in Odisha: A Domestic Dispute Turns Deadly

Shocking Incident in Bhadrak District

Bhadrak: In a tragic turn of events, a man reportedly killed his wife with an axe during a domestic argument in the Bhadrak district of Odisha, as confirmed by local authorities on Sunday.

The violent incident took place on Saturday night in Parapokhari village, located within the jurisdiction of the Kasia marine police station.

The lifeless body of Gurubari Jena was discovered the following morning, prompting neighbors to alert the police.

Authorities revealed that her husband, Gopinath, has fled the scene, and efforts are currently underway to locate him.

Gurubari was Gopinath's second spouse, and witnesses noted that the couple frequently quarreled, particularly over financial issues.

"My father often argued with my mother about money. Just days ago, he attempted to strangle her, only stopping when my brother intervened. Last night, he fatally attacked her with an axe," shared their daughter.

The police have initiated an investigation into the matter, and the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
