Tragic Attack in Odisha: 15-Year-Old Girl Airlifted for Critical Care

Severe Burn Injuries Lead to Emergency Airlift
Bhubaneswar: A 15-year-old girl is fighting for her life following a brutal attack in Puri district, Odisha. She suffered severe burn injuries after allegedly being set ablaze by unknown assailants. Officials have announced plans to airlift her to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi for specialized treatment.
The incident occurred on July 19 in the Balanga area, where the girl had gone to visit a friend. Reports indicate that three unidentified individuals doused her with a flammable liquid and ignited it before fleeing the scene.
Local residents quickly came to her rescue, transporting her to the Community Health Centre in Pipili. Due to the critical nature of her injuries, she was subsequently transferred to AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
Prof. Ashutosh Biswas, the director of AIIMS Bhubaneswar, stated that arrangements are being made to airlift the girl around noon. He noted, "The patient is stable now, and her blood pressure has improved from low levels observed yesterday. We believe she will receive better care at AIIMS Delhi, one of India's leading healthcare facilities."
An expert committee has been established at AIIMS Bhubaneswar to oversee her treatment, but doctors have determined that she would benefit from more extensive care in the capital.
Meanwhile, law enforcement has initiated an investigation to track down the perpetrators of this heinous act.
