Air Ambulance Accident in Chatra District

A heartbreaking incident has emerged from Chatra district in Jharkhand. An air ambulance that took off from Birsa Munda Airport in Ranchi for Delhi crashed in a dense forest area of the Simaria police station region. All seven individuals aboard the aircraft tragically lost their lives at the scene of the accident. According to reports, the air ambulance departed around 7:10 PM from Ranchi airport. Shortly after takeoff, communication with the aircraft was lost, and it went down in the woods near Simaria in Chatra.


Details of the Crash

Kirtishree G., the Deputy Commissioner of Chatra, confirmed the incident. She stated that all seven passengers on the air ambulance perished in the crash. The aircraft was en route from Ranchi to Delhi. Shubham Khandelwal, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer, reported that the bodies of all seven individuals have been recovered. The deceased have been identified as Captain Vivek Vikas Bhagat, Captain Sarwajdeep Singh, Sanjay Kumar, Dr. Vikas Kumar Gupta, Sachin Kumar Mishra, Archana Devi, and Dhuru Kumar.


Investigation into the Cause

An official previously indicated that the accident occurred shortly after the air ambulance took off from Ranchi airport at approximately 7:10 PM. The airport director, Kumar, confirmed that the air ambulance carrying seven people crashed near Simaria in Chatra district. The state administration has been notified of the incident.


Currently, the exact causes of the crash remain unclear. Initial assessments suggest that adverse weather conditions or technical failures may have contributed to the accident, but official confirmation will only come after an investigation by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
