The accident took place on the Gangotri National Highway, just beyond Gangnani Dharmakund, where the vehicle lost control and plunged into the river.

Initial reports suggest that the MUV was carrying seven passengers. While four bodies have been retrieved from the riverbank, rescue teams are actively searching the strong currents for the remaining individuals.

In response to the incident, local authorities, including the district administration, police, and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), have been mobilized to assist in the rescue efforts.

Witnesses indicated that the vehicle veered off the road approximately 20 meters past Gangnani Dharmakund, leading to the tragic plunge.
