Tragic Accident in Uttarakhand Claims Three Lives and Injures Six
Accident Overview
A tragic incident occurred near Bhawali in Nainital district, Uttarakhand, where a vehicle transporting pilgrims met with an accident, resulting in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to six others. The vehicle, a Scorpio, was carrying nine passengers, including children, and was en route from Izzat Nagar in Bareilly to Baba Neem Karoli Dham. The accident took place early Thursday morning, approximately 500 meters past a petrol station in Bhawali, heading towards Almora.
Emergency teams from Nainital police, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and fire services quickly arrived at the scene to initiate rescue operations. The injured were first treated at the community health center in Bhawali before being transferred to a higher medical facility for further care. Authorities identified the deceased as Ganga Devi (55) and Brijesh Kumari (26), both residents of Chawan village in Bareilly, along with Nancy Gangwar (24) from Pilibhit.
Injuries and Medical Response
The injured individuals were transported to the nearest Community Health Center (CHC) via ambulances, with some being referred to Sushila Tiwari Hospital for advanced treatment. Three of the injured were later taken to Bareilly. All the victims hailed from Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat and were on their way to visit the Kainchi Dham when the accident occurred just five kilometers before reaching their destination. According to police reports, all passengers in the vehicle were relatives.
