Tragic Accident in Uttarakhand Claims Six Lives
Fatal Car Accident in Pauri District
On August 7, a tragic incident occurred on the Devprayag-Pauri road in Uttarakhand's Pauri district, where a car plunged into a gorge, resulting in the deaths of six family members and leaving one person injured. This information was confirmed by local police.
According to the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), emergency teams from the police and SDRF were dispatched to the scene immediately after receiving reports of the accident near a dumping zone on the route to Pauri.
The SDRF reported that the family, residents of the Laksar area in Haridwar, was traveling in a Bolero vehicle when the driver lost control, causing the car to fall into a deep ravine. At the time of the accident, there were seven individuals in the vehicle. The SDRF stated that the bodies of six people, including a woman and a child, were recovered from the site, while a 16-year-old boy named Arham, who was injured, was taken to the hospital by local residents.
The deceased have been identified as Afzal (49), his brother Guferan (34), Afzal's wife Sabbu (40), their daughter Anamiya (3), son Aman (14), and son Armaan (20). The injured Arham is also Afzal's son. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed his condolences regarding the accident and instructed that the injured receive prompt and adequate medical care.
He also directed that those severely injured be airlifted to larger hospitals if necessary.
