Fatal Incident in Lahaul-Spiti District

In a tragic event in the Lahaul-Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh, two individuals lost their lives while traveling in a tempo traveler. The vehicle lost balance unexpectedly and plunged into a gorge. Although there were 24 passengers on board, all others were rescued safely. Some sustained injuries, but unfortunately, two people did not survive. Continuous rainfall in Himachal Pradesh has made the roads slippery, contributing to the accident.


According to police reports, the incident occurred near Gramphoo on the Koksar-Rohtang route. Authorities confirmed that two fatalities, including one woman, have been reported, while the injured were taken to a hospital in Manali after receiving initial treatment.



The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Shimla noted a slight drop in maximum temperatures across several areas of Himachal Pradesh following light rainfall over the past 24 hours. Light rain is expected in the coming days, with heavy rainfall predicted on June 21 and 22. The state has recorded light to moderate rainfall at various locations, with some areas experiencing temperatures above normal, while others remained close to average. On Monday, the average maximum temperature across the hilly state was normal, with Hamirpur recording the highest at 38.2 degrees Celsius.
