Fatal Collision in Narmadapuram

Authorities in Madhya Pradesh reported a heartbreaking incident where a woman and her newborn lost their lives after the ambulance transporting them collided with a tree in the Narmadapuram district.


The victim, identified as Anjali Rajput, had just given birth on June 26 and was on her way back to her village with two relatives when the tragedy occurred. The ambulance veered off course and struck a tree.


According to the officer in charge at Piparia police station, the accident resulted in three fatalities. Anjali was en route to Sarra Kishore village.


The official stated, 'The driver lost control of the ambulance, leading to the collision with a mango tree. Anjali, her infant son, and another woman were pronounced dead. The driver and one other passenger sustained injuries.'


Separate Incident in Shimla

In another unfortunate event, three individuals died in a road accident near Jalog, Shimla, as heavy rains continued to batter Himachal Pradesh on Monday.


The Shimla Disaster Management Authority reported that the accident occurred approximately four kilometers from Jalog in the Sub Tehsil area. Local officials and police quickly responded to the scene.


Additionally, a cloudburst was reported in the village of Sikaseri within the Sarpara Gram Panchayat, resulting in significant property damage. A room, kitchen, warehouse, and livestock belonging to local residents were swept away, although no human casualties were reported.


The Disaster Management Authority also noted that 34 Distribution Transformers (DTRs) were out of service, disrupting electricity supply in Shimla. Restoration efforts are expected to be completed by Monday evening, while water supply has also been impacted due to the cloudburst.
