Fatal Incident in Latehar District

In a tragic incident on Sunday in Latehar district, Jharkhand, two women lost their lives after being struck by a truck, according to police reports. The accident occurred around 10 AM near the village of Arahan.


The deceased have been identified as Sushma Ekka and Pushpa Ekka, both members of the same family. Abhishek Kumar, the officer in charge of the Netarhat police station, stated, 'The women were sitting by the roadside when the truck driver lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the accident.'


Authorities confirmed that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Following the incident, the truck driver fled the scene, and efforts are underway to locate him.


In response to the accident, local residents blocked the Netarhat-Mahuadandar road for approximately two hours. The situation was resolved after police intervention, which led to the reopening of the road.
