Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Two Indian Army Soldiers in Himachal Pradesh

In a heartbreaking incident, two soldiers from the Indian Army lost their lives when their vehicle fell approximately 600 meters into a gorge in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. The servicemen were en route to a wedding in Bregan village when the tragedy struck.

The deceased have been identified as Nitesh, aged 32, from Tarna Hill in Thanehra Mohalla, and Mahendra Kumar, hailing from Doosra Khaabu in Balh. Both individuals were on leave to celebrate the wedding.

The accident occurred around 8:15 PM. Friends traveling in another vehicle ahead of them noticed that the soldiers' car had not followed them into the Darlag area. Concerned for their safety, they attempted to reach out to the soldiers, but their calls went unanswered.

Shortly after, a woman answered one of the calls, revealing that the soldiers' phone had been found near a vehicle that had fallen into the gorge. Alarmed, the friends quickly returned to the scene.

Upon descending into the ravine, they found the car severely damaged. Tragically, both Nitesh and Mahendra were discovered outside the vehicle, having succumbed to their injuries instantly due to the impact of the fall.

A police team arrived shortly after being notified. With the assistance of local residents, the bodies were retrieved and sent for post-mortem examinations. Initial reports indicate that the car skidded off the road after the driver lost control on a sharp bend.

The police have initiated an inquiry and are conducting further investigations to ascertain the precise cause of the accident.

Community members and family expressed profound sorrow over the loss of these two young men, who were recognized for their commitment to service and strong community ties. This incident underscores the hazards associated with the steep and narrow roads in the hilly regions of Himachal Pradesh, where accidents are a frequent occurrence.
