Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Four Friends in Kullu District

In the early hours of Tuesday, a tragic accident occurred near Nimla, resulting in the deaths of four friends returning from a wedding in Kumarsain.

The incident took place between 3:00 AM and 3:30 AM when their vehicle veered off the road and fell into a gorge on National Highway-305, located between Haripur and Nimla in the Ani region of Kullu district.

The five friends were on their way back to their village, Jabaun, after celebrating at a wedding in Badagaon, Shimla district. All five individuals hailed from the Jabaun-Karana area.

Preliminary reports identify the victims as Rahul (son of Jagdish Chand), Vikas alias Vicky (son of Hira Singh), Suresh Kumar (son of Mohan Lal), Balakrishna (son of Rikhi Ram), and Goonjan (son of Ram Krishan). While four lost their lives, Suresh Kumar survived but suffered serious injuries.

The accident prompted a swift rescue operation, with local residents, police, and Ani MLA Lokender Kumar arriving at the scene to assist in the relief efforts. The injured individual was promptly transported to a hospital for medical attention.

The exact reasons behind the vehicle's departure from the road remain unclear, and authorities have launched an investigation. A report has also been submitted to the administration by the local patwari.

This incident has cast a shadow of grief over the Jabaun-Karana community, as the victims were returning home from a joyous occasion.

MLA Lokender Kumar expressed his sorrow over the loss of life and extended condolences to the families affected, while also wishing for the swift recovery of the injured.

This tragic event highlights ongoing concerns regarding road safety on the mountainous highways of Himachal Pradesh, with the specific cause of the accident to be determined following the police inquiry.
