Fatal Incident in Shahpur Assembly Segment

A tragic accident unfolded in the Shahpur assembly area of Kangra district on the Dharakandi road, near Ghera village, adjacent to a Hanuman temple. It is believed that the vehicle lost control during the night and plunged into a gorge.

The incident was discovered on Saturday morning when bystanders spotted the wrecked car at the bottom of the slope and promptly notified local residents, law enforcement, and administrative officials.

The victims have been identified as Karan, a teacher, along with his two daughters, who tragically lost their lives at the scene. His wife and another daughter suffered severe injuries in the crash. Local residents quickly initiated a rescue effort, retrieving the injured from the gorge prior to the arrival of emergency services.

A team from a 108 ambulance transported the injured individuals to a nearby medical facility. Due to their critical state, both were subsequently referred to Tanda Medical College for further treatment.

Authorities have filed a case and commenced an investigation. Initial assessments suggest that either poor road conditions or loss of control in the darkness may have contributed to the accident. A more detailed inquiry is ongoing to determine the precise cause.

The tragedy has cast a pall over the Shahpur community, prompting residents to advocate for enhanced road safety measures.
