Fatal Collision in Kushinagar District

In a tragic incident in the Tamkuhi Raj area of Kushinagar district, a retired teacher lost his life after being struck by a truck, while another individual sustained injuries. This information was confirmed by local police on Thursday.


According to police reports, the retired teacher, 85-year-old Jokhan Pandey, from the Hafua Jeevan village, was riding a motorcycle with 46-year-old Narendra Mishra when they were returning from Padrauna on Wednesday evening around 7 PM. They were involved in a serious accident near Banwaria when a truck hit them.


The accident occurred as Jokhan Pandey and Narendra Mishra were making their way back home from Padrauna. Eyewitnesses reported that both individuals were severely injured.


Local residents rushed the injured men to the community health center in Tamkuhi Raj, where doctors assessed their conditions as critical and referred them to the Ravindranagar Medical College for further treatment.


Tragically, Jokhan Pandey succumbed to his injuries during treatment, while Narendra Mishra is currently receiving care at the medical college. The officer in charge of Tamkuhi Raj police station, Sunil Verma, stated that the body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and efforts are underway to locate the truck involved in the incident.
