Tragedy Strikes: Boat Capsizes Near Phu Quoc Island, Leaving Indian Tourists Feared Dead

In a heartbreaking event, a boat carrying Indian tourists capsized off the coast of Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam on Saturday, with reports indicating that fifteen individuals are presumed dead. Local news outlet VN Express International reported that the speedboat was transporting 32 Indian tourists along with four crew members from Hon May Rut to An Thoi Port when it overturned approximately 400 meters from Hon May Rut Ngoai, resulting in all passengers being thrown into the water.

According to preliminary reports from officials in the Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone, nearby tourist vessels quickly responded to the scene, followed by the involvement of border guards, the navy, the coast guard, and other rescue teams.

The tragic incident has led to the confirmation of 15 fatalities. The Indian Embassy in Hanoi has established control rooms to facilitate ongoing search and rescue efforts.
