The District Magistrate, Mukesh Repaswal, has announced new traffic regulations on National Highway-154A (Chakki–Chamba–Bharmaur route) due to ongoing landslide mitigation efforts. This measure, aimed at enhancing public safety, will be in effect until March 31, 2026.


According to the directive, traffic will be halted for approximately 25–30 minutes each hour from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., based on the needs of the ongoing work. This regulation is enforced under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.


The District Magistrate assured that emergency service vehicles, such as ambulances, fire trucks, and police cars, will have uninterrupted access. The Public Works Department’s National Highway Division in Chamba informed the administration about the necessary mitigation works, leading to these safety protocols.


This order highlights the importance of temporary traffic control to protect commuters during the landslide prevention operations.
