Traffic Diversion Measures in Place

In Greater Noida West, traffic diversion has been initiated at several roundabouts along the 130-meter road. This strategy includes the establishment of U-turns on both sides of the roundabouts to facilitate vehicle movement. Currently, temporary barriers have been erected to manage traffic flow, with plans for permanent installations following the Kavad Yatra to alleviate congestion issues.

Temporary Barriers and Their Challenges

At the Ek Murti roundabout, temporary barriers have been created using Noida Police barriers and iron grills secured with ropes. However, these barriers are frequently tampered with by pedestrians, allowing two-wheelers and e-rickshaws to bypass the intended diversion, leading to renewed traffic jams.

Diversion Implemented from Both Directions

The Greater Noida Authority has enforced traffic diversions from both directions at the roundabouts. The Iteda roundabout has been partially closed off using broken street light poles, large stones, and iron barriers. While the temporary barriers have somewhat reduced congestion, the lack of permanent solutions means that the diversion is not entirely effective.

Public Feedback and Future Plans

Manish Kumar, a local resident, raised concerns about the traffic jams through a complaint on the Chief Minister's portal, urging for the installation of permanent barriers. In response, Narottam Singh, a Senior Manager at the Greater Noida Authority, stated that the temporary barriers were put in place to ensure smoother traffic flow during the Kavad Yatra, with plans for permanent installations to be considered afterward.
