Traffic Advisory for Independence Day: Expect Delays at Delhi-Noida Borders

Traffic Restrictions Ahead of Independence Day

As Independence Day approaches, significant traffic disruptions are anticipated at the Noida borders leading into Delhi. This is due to a security drill that has resulted in a ban on trucks entering the capital.

The Gautam Budh Nagar traffic police have issued a notice detailing these restrictions, which are standard practice each year prior to the Independence Day celebrations. The advisory prohibits the entry of all commercial vehicles, including heavy, medium, and light trucks.

Motorists are advised to consider these restrictions, which may lead to increased congestion. The traffic limitations began on August 12 and will remain in effect until Wednesday, with additional restrictions set to resume Thursday night and last until the conclusion of the events on August 15.

The advisory emphasizes that these traffic restrictions are necessary due to enhanced security measures around high-security areas, such as the Red Fort.
