TMC Leaders Rally Against Central Agencies

On Thursday, Kunal Ghosh, a leader of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), led a protest in Kolkata alongside party workers against the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). This demonstration was triggered by the ED's raid on the I-PAC office, which is linked to an alleged fake government job scam. The incident unfolded dramatically at the I-PAC office in Kolkata, where the ED conducted its operation. During the protest, Ghosh accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of orchestrating a political conspiracy, asserting that central agencies are being misused to target the ruling party in West Bengal ahead of the elections.

Ghosh remarked that the BJP, referred to as 'vote thieves', concocted this 'data theft' scheme upon realizing their attempts to manipulate votes were failing. He raised questions regarding the timing of the investigations, asking why these cases had not been addressed until now. Referring to the ED's actions at the I-PAC office, he claimed that the firm was acting as a consultant for the party and accused them of attempting to obtain sensitive information related to election campaigning.

Speaking to reporters, Ghosh emphasized that I-PAC serves as their consultant and alleged that there was an attempt to steal data and plans related to their election campaign. The protest saw numerous TMC activists and leaders gathering in the city, chanting slogans against the ED and CBI, and accusing these central agencies of operating at the behest of the BJP-led central government. Party officials asserted that these raids were intended to intimidate the TMC and disrupt their organizational and campaign preparations.
