Three Minors Arrested in Delhi for Stabbing During Mobile Theft Attempt

Delhi Police have arrested three minors in connection with a robbery and murder case where the victim was fatally stabbed while resisting the theft of his mobile phone and other belongings. The police acted quickly on leads and apprehended the juveniles, recovering the murder weapon—a dagger—as well as the victim's wallet and ID card from them.

The minors reportedly committed the crime to obtain quick money to support their extravagant lifestyles. On June 10, authorities received a report from Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital about a man named Amit Kumar, who had been admitted with stab wounds inflicted by unknown attackers.

Upon arrival at the hospital, police discovered that the victim had suffered two severe stab wounds to his chest. Despite medical intervention, Amit Kumar unfortunately passed away from his injuries. With no eyewitnesses or immediate evidence, the case was initially treated as a blind murder, leading to the registration of FIR No. 325/25 U/s 103(1) BNS.

Investigators from PS Ashok Vihar utilized technical surveillance, conducted thorough local inquiries, and examined CCTV footage from the crime scene. This led to the development of local intelligence and activation of informants to gather further information. Through persistent efforts, the suspects were identified and arrested.

During questioning, the detained minors confessed to their roles in the murder, stating they attempted to snatch the victim's mobile phone. When he resisted, they stabbed him and fled with his belongings. The police recovered the dagger used in the crime along with the victim's wallet and ID card from the suspects.
