Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced a significant victory against Maoists, stating that security forces had killed two top leaders of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) near the Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh border. According to Shah, the operation targeted central committee members Katta Ramchandra Reddy and Kadri Satyanarayana Reddy, emphasizing that security forces are systematically dismantling the leadership of Maoists and breaking the backbone of 'red terror.'
Continued Success Against Maoist Activities
A police officer from Chhattisgarh reported that the encounter in the Abujhmad forest commenced when a team was conducting a search operation based on intelligence about Maoist activities. So far, two male Maoist bodies have been recovered from the site, along with an AK-47 rifle, various weapons, a large quantity of explosives, Maoist literature, propaganda materials, and everyday items.
With this latest operation, a total of 249 Maoists have been killed in various encounters across Chhattisgarh this year. Notably, on September 11, ten Maoists, including central committee member Modam Balakrishna, were killed in an encounter in the Gariaband district.
