Three Arrested in Karnataka Murder Case of 32-Year-Old Man

On Thursday, Karnataka police announced the arrest of three individuals in connection with the murder of a 32-year-old man in Kuriyal village, located within the Bantwal rural police jurisdiction, which occurred on May 27.
According to the Bantwal police, Abdul Rahman and another individual, Kalander Shafi, were attacked with a sword in the Erakodi area of Kuriyal village, resulting in Rahman's death and injuries to Shafi. Following the incident, the police registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
In response to the incident, five investigative teams were formed, leading to the apprehension of three suspects on May 29. The investigation is ongoing to locate the remaining accused.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Deepak (21), Preetivraj (21), and Chirantan (19). Karnataka's Home Minister G. Parameshwara stated on Thursday that four individuals have been arrested in connection with the murder of the 32-year-old Muslim man in Bantwal taluka, and further actions will be taken based on the information obtained from them.
He emphasized that the government is treating this murder case with utmost seriousness and will not rest until such communal activities and incidents of murder are curtailed.
Meanwhile, R. Hithendra, the Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) in Karnataka, remarked on Thursday that the police are taking the recent spate of three murders in South Kanara very seriously and are preparing to implement significant measures to prevent such occurrences in the area.
Hithendra made these comments after reviewing the law and order situation with senior local police officials. He informed the media that the police are addressing the brutal murder of Ashraf, who was beaten to death by a mob on April 27 in Kudupu, followed by the public sword attack murder of Suhas Shetty on May 1 in Bajpe, and the sword attack murder of Abdul Rahman on May 27.
He stated that, in addition to regular actions, extraordinary and significant steps are being taken. I have instructed the police officials in South Kanara and Mangaluru regarding this matter. Earlier, the state's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had directed the police to act swiftly in this case.
