Three Arrested in Delhi Following Tempo Driver's Death in Road Rage Incident

Arrests Made in Connection with Road Rage Fatality
Delhi Police have apprehended three individuals linked to the death of a tempo driver after a road rage incident that occurred on June 30 in the Mori Gate area, officials reported on Saturday.
As per the police report, Gokran, also known as Raja, a 40-year-old laborer from Maharajpura, Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh, filed a complaint stating that he and his associate, Bunty, who resides in Mansarovar Park, Shahdara, had loaded a Bajaj Maxima three-wheeler with PVC wires and delivered it to Naya Bazar in Sadar Bazar, Delhi.
An argument erupted over allegations of improper driving. During the confrontation, Bunty was attacked, suffering serious injuries that led to him collapsing. The assailants fled the scene as onlookers began to gather. Bunty was rushed to a hospital by Gokran with assistance from bystanders but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The police initiated a case under Section 105/3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at PS Kashmere Gate and began their investigation. CCTV footage captured three men in an e-rickshaw stopping the tempo and attacking both Gokran and Bunty. The suspects fled towards Yudhishthir Setu after the incident. Following their movements through various CCTV cameras, police discovered they had purchased alcohol earlier that evening and had exited at Moti Gate.
Images from the footage were shown to residents near Lahori Gate Chowk. On July 3, one suspect, Ritesh Kumar (27), was identified and arrested at a dry fruits shop in the vicinity. Based on his confession, the other two suspects, Anil and Vicky, were also apprehended at their workplaces.
During questioning, all three men admitted to working at a dry fruits shop near Lahori Gate and stated they were returning home to Khajuri Khas and Mandoli after drinking when the altercation took place. Ritesh confessed to slapping Gokran, while Anil and Vicky attacked the tempo driver, leading to his unconsciousness. They fled the scene upon noticing a crowd gathering, unaware that the incident had resulted in a fatality. Police confirmed that all three suspects are now in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
