Authorities in Bihar have apprehended three individuals, including two women, in connection with an acid attack on a 40-year-old woman in Mokama. This information was disclosed by officials on Tuesday.
According to police reports, the victim, who operates a beauty parlor, was assaulted with acid by two assailants on a motorcycle while returning home after closing her shop on the evening of December 21.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Neetu Devi, Suman Devi, and Mohammad Ehsan. Anand Kumar Singh, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO-1) of the flood-affected area, stated that the investigation revealed Neetu Devi conspired with Suman Devi to carry out the attack, driven by suspicions of an illicit relationship between the victim and her husband.
Singh further explained that Neetu Devi had hired Mohammad Ehsan to execute the attack, promising him a substantial sum of money afterward. Police have recovered ₹97,000 in cash from Neetu Devi's premises, believed to be intended for Ehsan as payment.
