Arrests Made in Online Scam Operation

In Deoghar district of Jharkhand, law enforcement has apprehended three individuals accused of defrauding people online by posing as customer service representatives for various e-commerce and digital payment platforms. The police disclosed this information recently.


According to a police statement, a team conducted a raid on Monday in a secluded area of Dalraidiha within the Sarwan police station jurisdiction, acting on a tip-off that led to the suspects' capture.


The arrested individuals have been identified as Pintu Das (26), Pawan Das (24), and Arun Kumar (26), all residents of different localities in Deoghar district. Authorities seized three mobile phones and eight SIM cards from their possession.


The statement further revealed that the trio allegedly deceived victims by disseminating fake links related to the PM-Kisan scheme and promising 'cashback' on bank credit cards.


Additionally, the suspects uploaded fraudulent customer service numbers for e-commerce and digital payment platforms on search engines to mislead users.
