Incident Overview

In a tragic incident in the Mori Gate area of Delhi, three intoxicated individuals reportedly beat a laborer to death during a street altercation. The police confirmed the arrests of all three suspects on Saturday.


Victim Identification and Arrests

The deceased has been identified as Bunty. The arrested suspects are Ritish Kumar (27), Vicky (25), and Anil (33).


Details of the Incident

The altercation occurred on the evening of June 30, when Bunty and his colleague, Gokarn, were returning from a delivery of PVC wire rolls in a three-wheeler.


Escalation of the Conflict

According to Raja Banthiya, Deputy Commissioner of Police for North District, the incident took place around 8:35 PM near Khoya Mandi on Nityanand Marg. A dispute arose when an e-rickshaw carrying three young men blocked their vehicle, leading to a heated argument that escalated into violence.


Assault and Aftermath

One of the assailants slapped Gokarn, while the others dragged Bunty out of the vehicle and severely beat him, causing him to lose consciousness. As a crowd began to gather, the three attackers fled the scene.


Medical Response and Investigation

Gokarn managed to get Bunty to a nearby hospital with the help of a passerby, where he was pronounced dead by doctors. The police registered a case at Kashmiri Gate police station on July 1 and began reviewing multiple CCTV footage to trace the route of the e-rickshaw. Authorities noted that the suspects worked at fruit shops in the Lahori Gate area and had no prior acquaintance with the victim.
