The Unconventional Love Story of Mohammad Amir and Nargis Khatun
Valentine's Week Kicks Off with a Unique Love Tale
As Valentine's Week begins, the anticipation for the celebration on February 14 is palpable. Today, we delve into a love story reminiscent of a Bollywood film, featuring a cricketer and a lawyer whose romance blossomed amidst the trials of jail and court appearances.
The cricketer in question is none other than Mohammad Amir, once hailed as Pakistan's premier fast bowler. Having retired from international cricket, Amir is currently in the spotlight for his participation in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Injury and Headlines
After playing a few initial matches in the PSL, Amir faced an injury that has kept him from participating in subsequent games for the Karachi Kings. He frequently makes headlines, often due to his personal life.
Love Found in Unlikely Circumstances
In 2016, Amir tied the knot with Nargis Khatun, whom he first met during his time in jail. This encounter dates back to 2010 when Amir was found guilty of spot-fixing during a tour in England, resulting in a six-month prison sentence. It was during this challenging period that he fell in love with Nargis.
At that time, Nargis was a lawyer of Pakistani descent residing in England, handling Amir's case. Their professional meetings soon turned into a romantic connection, with Nargis providing emotional support during Amir's difficult days in jail.
Marriage After Release
Once Amir completed his sentence, he returned to Pakistan and married Nargis. The news of their wedding surfaced in the media only after some time. A year later, in 2017, Nargis gave birth to their first daughter, Minsa.
Currently, Amir resides in England with his wife and children. He has expressed a desire to continue living there post-marriage, aiming to provide his children with quality education. Notably, Amir was just 18 years old when he faced a ban from cricket.
