In reality, their wedding took place on June 2, 1996, but it was publicly acknowledged in January 1997. This led to speculation that Janhvi was born before their marriage and that Sridevi was pregnant prior to their wedding. Just months after their marriage, Sridevi gave birth to their first daughter, Janhvi Kapoor, followed by their second daughter, Khushi Kapoor.
