The Debate on Belief: A Barber's Perspective on God
The Quest for Evidence in Belief
Some individuals require concrete proof for everything. Until they receive such evidence, they dismiss various concepts as mere superstition. This tendency is often observed among atheists, who outright reject the existence of a higher power.
Their argument hinges on the fact that no one has ever seen God. However, many people believe in a supreme force that governs the universe. Unfortunately, some remain oblivious to this truth due to ignorance.
A Barber's Denial of God's Existence
Once, a man was getting a haircut at a barber's shop when a debate about God ensued. The barber stated, 'I do not believe in the existence of God. You can call me an atheist.' The man then inquired, 'Why do you not believe in God?' The barber replied, 'Just step outside and see where God is. If God existed, would so many people be starving, falling ill, or experiencing violence in the world?'
Questioning the Existence of Barbers
The man was left speechless by the barber's arguments and quietly listened. After the haircut, he stepped outside and noticed a man with long, unkempt hair and a bushy beard, suggesting he hadn't had a haircut in months.
Returning to the barber, the man said, 'Do you know that barbers do not exist?' The barber responded, 'What nonsense are you talking? Can't you see I am a barber? I just cut your hair a moment ago.' The man countered, 'No, barbers don't exist. If they did, there wouldn't be people like that man outside with long hair and a bushy beard.'
The barber replied, 'If that man never comes to a barber, how can the barber cut his hair?' The man conceded, 'Yes, you are absolutely right. The same applies to God. If some people do not believe in Him, how can He help them?'
