Terrorists Cornered in Jammu: Security Forces Launch Operation Amidst Adverse Weather

Intense Operation Underway in Udhampur District

Jammu: Security forces are currently engaged in a critical operation to neutralize four terrorists from the Jaish-e-Mohammad group, who have been under surveillance for the past year. These individuals are located in a forested region of Udhampur district, Jammu and Kashmir, as officials reported on Thursday.

The confrontation began when a coordinated search effort by the army and police was initiated based on credible intelligence in the isolated Bihali area of Basantgarh early this morning. Despite challenging weather conditions, including rain and fog, additional reinforcements have been deployed to support the ongoing operation.

Inspector General of Police for the Jammu range, Bhim Sen Tuti, informed the media that contact with the terrorists was established around 8:30 AM. He confirmed that the group has been monitored for a year, emphasizing that the situation would be clearer once the weather improves.

The terrorists, affiliated with the Pakistan-based JeM, were located near Karoor nallah by the joint search team, which includes the army's elite para commandos.

Earlier today, the Jammu-based White Knight Corps of the Army announced on social media that a joint operation with J&K Police was underway in the Bihali area, confirming that contact had been made with the terrorists.

This operation, dubbed Operation Bihali, is strategically timed just a week before the commencement of the annual Amarnath yatra in the Kashmir Himalayas.

In addition, security forces conducted a separate search operation in the Purmandal area of Samba district late Wednesday night following reports of suspicious activities. However, this operation concluded without any significant findings.
