Tensions Rise Between Government and CJP Over NEET Exam Issues

The ongoing conflict regarding the NEET exam irregularities and paper leak has intensified between the central government and the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). Just before a crucial meeting scheduled for July 25 with government representatives, CJP's national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka made a significant statement. In an interview with a news agency, he emphasized that if Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan does not resign, there would be no point in continuing discussions with the government, and the organization would have to adopt a firmer stance.

Regarding the removal of 47 officials by the NTA, CJP's spokesperson stated, "We need to review several details, but we are reiterating the same point. The ultimate accountability lies with the education minister, as he is directly responsible for the paper leak and the suicides of students following the NEET paper leak. He must resign. We are continuously discussing other significant reforms... Yesterday, we also submitted a charter of demands to the government, which has been handed over to them."

After a meeting with CJP members on Friday, Union Minister JP Nadda remarked, "The meeting lasted nearly two hours... They presented three main demands and five suggestions for exam reforms. We informed them that we would meet again tomorrow afternoon to update them on the discussions held with the government."

In an effort to find a peaceful resolution to the CJP's demands regarding exam irregularities, a significant meeting took place on Friday at the Vitthalbhai Patel House between CJP representatives and the government. The government was represented by Union Health Minister JP Nadda and Minister of State in the PMO Jitendra Singh, while CJP was represented by its national spokesperson Sourav Das and another youth member. This marked the third official meeting between the CJP and the government. Nadda and Das, along with another CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka, had participated in consecutive meetings at the minister's residence on July 20. This meeting occurred just hours after activist Sonam Wangchuk ended a 26-day hunger strike following assurances from the government regarding his main demands. The CJP had previously rejected the government's invitation to meet at any minister's home or office, insisting that discussions should occur in a neutral location.

The CJP has stated that protests will persist until Minister Pradhan resigns. The organization insists that their demonstrations at Jantar Mantar will continue until the Union Education Minister steps down. In addition to demanding Pradhan's resignation, the group is calling for accountability for alleged irregularities in competitive exams, reforms in the education system, compensation of 1 crore rupees for families of students who committed suicide following the NEET paper leak, and the withdrawal of all FIRs and legal actions against peaceful protesters involved in the movement.
