Tensions Rise as Pakistan Denies Ceasefire Violations Amidst Indian Warnings

Escalating Border Tensions
New Delhi: Following a breach of a ceasefire agreement with India, Pakistan's Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, has refuted claims of any violations. This comes as India issued a stern warning, stating that its military is prepared to respond to any further incidents along the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC).
In an interview with Geo News, Tarar asserted, "Pakistan cannot engage in ceasefire violations, nor has it considered such actions. This is a time for celebration, as it marks a victory for us," as reported by The Dawn.
He emphasized that once a ceasefire is established, there should be no question of Pakistan breaching it.
Tarar urged for rationality to prevail instead of what he termed as unfounded accusations.
He reiterated, "Currently, there are no violations from Pakistan."
During a late-night press conference, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri urged Pakistan to take necessary measures to rectify these violations and handle the situation with the required seriousness and responsibility.
Misri indicated that the armed forces have been instructed to respond decisively to any further breaches along the International Border and the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir.
"In recent hours, there have been multiple violations of the agreement reached earlier that evening between the Directors General of Military Operations from both nations," he stated.
He described these actions as a violation of the previously established understanding.
"Our armed forces are providing an adequate and appropriate response to these violations, and we regard them with utmost seriousness," he added.
The Foreign Secretary confirmed that the military is maintaining a vigilant watch over the situation.
He reiterated the call for Pakistan to take responsible actions to address these violations.
The armed forces have been directed to respond firmly to any recurrence of violations along the International Border and the LoC.
In response to a terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22 that resulted in 26 fatalities, India initiated Operation Sindoor on May 7.
This operation targeted nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, prompting Pakistan to escalate tensions with unprovoked artillery and drone attacks.
