Arrest of Kaushik Reddy by Warangal Police

In Telangana, Kaushik Reddy, a legislator from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), was apprehended by Warangal police early Saturday morning in connection with an alleged extortion case. Police sources confirmed the details.


According to police reports, Reddy was taken into custody at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and subsequently transported to Warangal.


Authorities stated that Reddy is accused of threatening a mine owner, demanding ₹25 lakh and subsequently asking for an additional ₹50 lakh. Based on these allegations, a case has been registered.


K.T. Rama Rao, the executive president of BRS, issued a statement claiming that false charges are being leveled against Reddy due to his inquiries into Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's alleged illegal activities and the corruption and irregularities involving ministers and leaders of the ruling Congress party. Rao has called for the unconditional release of the legislator.
