Presentation of the Report

On Sunday, the Telangana government provided the report from the Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghosh Commission regarding the Kaleshwaram irrigation project to the members of the assembly via a pen drive. A discussion on this report is anticipated in the house.

Allegations Against Former Chief Minister

Citing the report, Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy previously stated that K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), who served as the Chief Minister during the tenure of the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government, has been directly and indirectly held accountable for irregularities and illegalities in the planning of the three dams.

Lack of Approval and Financial Irregularities

The commission also revealed that the project did not receive cabinet approval and that work commenced without a final detailed project report (DPR). According to a summary shared with the media, KCR had predetermined everything and insisted on constructing the dam at Medigadda 'at his discretion.' The report indicated that officials involved in the decision-making process assisted him in this regard. The commission noted that there were significant financial irregularities throughout the entire project.
