Telangana Government Honors Naga Chaitanya and Rashmika Mandanna at Gaddar State Film Awards 2025

Hyderabad, March 7: The Telangana government has officially recognized actor Naga Chaitanya as the Best Actor for 2025 for his outstanding role in 'Thandel', while actress Rashmika Mandanna has been awarded Best Actress for her performance in 'The Girlfriend'.
Naga Chaitanya's portrayal of a shipping vessel captain in 'Thandel', directed by Chandoo Mondeti, captivated audiences, while Rashmika's powerful depiction of a woman escaping a toxic relationship in Rahul Ravindran's 'The Girlfriend' resonated deeply with viewers.
During a press conference, Telangana Film Development Corporation Chairman Dil Raju unveiled the winners of the esteemed Gaddar State Film Awards for 2025.
'Thandel', which earned Naga Chaitanya the Best Actor accolade, also secured the award for Best Film on National Integrity. Additionally, Anil Ravipudi's blockbuster 'Sankranthiki Vasthunam' was honored as the Best Entertainment Film.
The award for Best Film was presented to 'Raju Weds Rambhai', with 'Dhandoraa' and 'The Pre Wedding Show' receiving recognition as the second and third best films, respectively.
'Little Hearts', a superhit, was awarded Best Debut Feature Film, while 'Mirai', featuring Teja Sajja, won accolades for Best Special Effects, Best Editing (Sreekar Prasad), and Best Cinematography (Karthik Ghattamneni).
'Court', a critically acclaimed film from the previous year, was recognized as the Best Social Message Film.
Shivaji received the Best Supporting Actor award, while Bhumika was honored as Best Supporting Actress.
Chaitu Jonnalagadda was awarded Best Actor (Jury) for his role in 'Raju Weds Rambai', and Ananthika received the Best Actress (Jury) award for her performance in '8 Vasanthalu'.
The Special Jury Hero award went to Roshan Meka for his role in the period drama 'Champion', which also garnered awards for Best Art Direction (Thota Tharani), Best Action Choreography (Peter Hein), Best Dance Choreography (Aata Sandeep), and Best Costume Design (Chandrakant Sonawane and Ajay Kumar Nambala).
Additionally, eight special awards were announced. Megastar Chiranjeevi received the NTR National Award, while Ashwini Dutt was honored with the Nagireddy – Chakrapani Award.
Kamal Haasan, a multifaceted talent in acting, directing, and producing, will be presented with the Paidi Jairaj Award, and veteran actress Jayasudha will receive the Akkineni Award.
Suddala Ashok Teja is set to receive the C. Narayana Reddy (CINARE) Award, while R Narayana Murthy will be honored with the Kantha Rao Award. The B N Reddy Award will be given to Sangeetam Srinivasa Rao, a prominent figure in Telugu cinema, and the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award will be awarded to Ramesh Prasad.
