Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Appears in Court Over Alleged Insult to Police

Court Appearance of Telangana CM

On Thursday, Telangana's Chief Minister Revanth Reddy appeared before a special court in connection with a case filed against him in 2023 for allegedly making derogatory remarks about police personnel while serving as the president of the Congress party in the state.

This marks the second occasion that Reddy has appeared before the MP-MLA court. The court has postponed the hearing of the case until June 12.

Previously, Reddy had appeared in court on February 20, where he was interrogated. He has denied the allegations against him and requested a hearing on the matter.

The case was registered in August 2023 based on a complaint from a police officer, who is also the president of the police association in Nirmal district. The case was later transferred to the Begum Bazaar police station in Hyderabad due to jurisdictional reasons.

The complainant alleged that Reddy, while serving as the then president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), made insulting statements against the Telangana police at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad.
