Lalu Prasad Yadav Announces Grandson's Name
On Wednesday, Lalu Prasad Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), shared that his family has named their new grandson 'Iraaj'. This announcement came just a day after Tejashwi Yadav and his wife welcomed their second child, a son, at a private hospital in Kolkata, West Bengal. In a post on X, Prasad mentioned, "My wife Rabri Devi and I have named our granddaughter Katyayani's little brother 'Iraaj'. Tejashwi and Rajshri have given him the full name 'Iraaj Lalu Yadav'."
Lalu further explained that Katyayani was born on the sixth day of the auspicious Navratri, during Katyayani Ashtami, and that this little ray of happiness was born on the auspicious day of Hanuman Ji, which is Tuesday. He expressed gratitude for everyone's good wishes and blessings, adding that both the newborn and his mother are healthy. According to a family member, the baby was delivered at a private hospital in Kolkata, where Rajshri had been admitted for several days. Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, also visited the hospital on Tuesday to meet with the Yadav family.
Speaking to reporters in Kolkata, Banerjee expressed her joy, stating, "Look at the happiness—it's their first son in the family. May peace and joy prevail in their family and their child's life. This baby has arrived with blessings." She also recalled that she had been informed earlier, saying, "They sent me a message. They have been in touch periodically. They informed me that the baby was born this morning. I was very happy to hear this news. I have also met Lalu Ji and Rabri Ji. Both mother and child are safe and healthy. The baby is very beautiful."
Tejashwi Yadav, the RJD leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, also spoke to the media, thanking everyone for their support. He expressed his happiness at welcoming a new member into the family, saying, "We are all very happy to welcome a new member into our family. I thank all well-wishers, especially Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, for their heartfelt support and blessings."
