Tejashwi Yadav's Strong Criticism of NDA Government
Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the opposition leader in the Bihar Assembly, expressed sharp criticism of the NDA government on Wednesday. He accused the administration of significant financial mismanagement and corruption in Bihar. In a post on X, Yadav highlighted that the state is grappling with a "severe financial crisis" and has recently issued a second letter regarding fund withdrawals and expenditure controls due to a critical shortage of funds.
Yadav alleged that the NDA administration has plundered the state treasury for pre-election distribution, leading to delays in social pensions, student loans, and employee salaries. He claimed that to protect their seats, corrupt retired officials and colluding agencies met with an inactive Chief Minister and managed to distribute ₹41,000 crores in the last 30 days before the elections from a deteriorating government.
He further stated that this has left almost no funds available for essential welfare schemes. According to him, the NDA government has been unable to provide social pensions for the elderly, settle outstanding student credit card dues, grant scholarships to students, or pay salaries and pensions to employees for several months, as corruption has drained the state treasury.
Yadav also claimed that the state is operating on borrowed money, with a debt of ₹4 lakh crores that incurs daily interest payments. He pointed out that this situation arises not only from a lack of funds but also from a deficiency in political will. Under the RJD's vision of a "New Bihar," he noted that this temporary government, built on systems, mechanisms, and conspiracies, is now functioning on borrowed money, meaning it is reliant on debt. The corrupt government is spending over ₹100 crores daily just to pay interest. The situation has escalated to the point where the NDA government has burdened Bihar with a debt of nearly ₹4 lakh crores or more.
