Tejashwi Yadav Critiques Bihar Government Over Rising Crime Rates

Opposition Leader's Strong Remarks
Patna, July 12: Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, has sharply criticized the Nitish Kumar administration regarding the worsening law and order situation in the state.
This latest outburst follows the tragic murder of Vikram Jha, a local trader in Patna.
In a social media post, Tejashwi expressed concern over Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's apparent inaction amidst the escalating crime rates in Bihar.
He stated, "Businessman Vikram Jha was shot dead in Patna. The chaotic state of affairs, including issues like DK Tax and the transfer industry, are to blame. Why is the oblivious Chief Minister not speaking up? Who will take responsibility for the numerous murders occurring in Bihar? The corrupt Bhuja Party must respond to this," he wrote.
The Rashtriya Janata Dal leader accused the government of fostering an environment where extortion and corruption within the police and administrative systems have emboldened criminals throughout the state.
Vikram Jha, who owned Trishna Mart, was attacked in the Zakariapur area under the jurisdiction of Ram Krishna Nagar police station late Friday night. Unidentified assailants on a motorcycle shot at him and quickly fled the scene. Although locals rushed him to the hospital, he was later pronounced dead due to his injuries, and his body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
Additionally, Alka Lamba, president of the All India Mahila Congress, visited Patna to assess preparations for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections and also criticized the Nitish government.
She remarked, "As Nitish Kumar's health declines, so does the law and order situation in Bihar." Lamba claimed that under the current regime, safety is compromised for businessmen, political leaders, and women alike, creating a pervasive atmosphere of fear due to the continuous rise in crime.
In her critique of the BJP-JD(U) alliance, she stated, "This is a double-engine government, but it is time for this administration to end. Whether in Delhi or Bihar, both regions are governed by double-engine administrations, and law and order have deteriorated in both."
