Tejashwi Yadav's Strong Critique of Nitish Kumar

Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the opposition leader in the Bihar Assembly, launched a fierce attack on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday. He questioned Kumar's silence regarding the exclusion of the 65% state reservation quota from the Constitution's Ninth Schedule. In a post on X, Yadav expressed his concerns about Kumar not responding to his previous letter, asking, "Is it because he has no answer, or is it a habitual oversight, or perhaps the officials are not showing him the letters?"

Yadav also targeted the NDA leadership, including Union Minister Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Upendra Kushwaha, accusing them of violating the rights of Dalits, tribals, backward classes, and extremely backward classes. He questioned why these parties, who claim to advocate for social justice, have failed to include the increased 65% reservation limit in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution. He urged Kumar, Paswan, Manjhi, and Kushwaha to speak out against this injustice instead of merely clinging to their positions.

The RJD leader further stated that if these leaders cannot fulfill even this modest demand from the Prime Minister, their political existence and alliance are shameful. He suggested that if Kumar, the Prime Minister, and the Home Minister are unable to address this issue, they should convene a special one-day session of the Assembly to see how they can implement it. On June 5, Yadav shared a letter addressed to CM Nitish Kumar on social media, stating, "The Chief Minister has failed miserably to include the 65% reservation limit, which was increased by the Grand Alliance government, in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution. We will make opportunistic leaders, who carry the RSS-BJP's agenda while winning votes from Dalits, tribals, and backward classes, understand the concerns of Bihar's justice-seeking populace."

Earlier, Tejashwi Yadav had sharply criticized the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government for its failure to maintain law and order and for allowing the health system to deteriorate. Speaking to reporters, Yadav remarked, "Criminals are rampant in Bihar. Numerous incidents are occurring, and the police seem helpless. The government appears to be asleep, as if they have no concern... Rapes occur, and the Deputy CM makes promises; this is the current state of affairs. This is a situation of jungle raj."
