Tejashwi Yadav's Optimism for Upcoming Elections

On Tuesday, Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the opposition in Bihar, expressed strong confidence that his party will secure victory in the upcoming Bankipur assembly by-election. Speaking to a news agency, he stated, "We are clearly going to win the election." Later, during a press interaction, the national president of RJD accused the BJP of deceiving the youth, farmers, and women in the Bankipur constituency.

Yadav also called for a formal judicial inquiry into the alleged use of AK-47 rifles by security forces to control crowds during the NEET protests in Siwan.

He emphasized that party members and candidates are actively campaigning in the constituency. He pointed out the stark contrast between the BJP's promises, such as providing millions of jobs and offering ₹2 lakh to women, and the reality on the ground. "We are fully confident that we will win this election. People are witnessing how the BJP has betrayed the youth, farmers, and women," he remarked.

Furthermore, he mentioned that they had issued an ultimatum to the government regarding their demands. Yadav personally warned the Chief Minister that if their requests were not met, a significant movement would ensue. Under pressure, the government had to concede on two issues. "When the public takes to the streets, the government has no choice but to yield. We are still demanding a judicial investigation into the AK-47 incident."

Upcoming By-Elections Announced

The Election Commission of India has announced by-elections for three assembly constituencies: Bankipur in Bihar, Datiya in Madhya Pradesh, and Manjalpur in Gujarat. Voting is scheduled for July 30, with the counting of votes set for August 3. The Bankipur seat became vacant following the resignation of BJP president Nitin Nawin, while the Datiya constituency was left open due to the disqualification of Congress MLA Rajendra Bharti. The Manjalpur seat was vacated after the passing of BJP MLA Yogeshbhai Naranadas Patel.
