Allegations of Voter Registration Fraud
Tejashwi Yadav, a prominent leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, raised serious allegations on Wednesday regarding a senior BJP official's voter registration activities ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections. In a post on X, Yadav claimed that Bhikhu Bhai Dalsania, the state organization secretary of the Bihar BJP and a close associate of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, has shifted his voter registration from Gujarat to Bihar.
Yadav stated that Dalsania, a resident of Gujarat, has been entrusted with a special project by the BJP in Bihar. He alleged that Dalsania previously voted in Amit Shah's Gandhinagar constituency and may register in another state after the Bihar elections. Yadav emphasized that Dalsania has removed his name from the Gujarat voter list and registered as a voter in Bihar as the elections approach.
He further noted that Dalsania had voted in the Gandhinagar constituency during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Now, with the Bihar Assembly elections nearing, he has changed his voter registration. Yadav questioned how many times and in how many states Dalsania has voted over the past five years.
According to Yadav, Dalsania's name does not have an address or house number in the Bihar voter list, and it is written in Gujarati rather than Hindi, making it difficult for Hindi-speaking voters to identify him. He pointed out that there is no address or house number listed for Dalsania in the Bihar voter registry, and his name is in Gujarati, which could hinder recognition by Hindi speakers. Yadav asserted that while the Election Commission's authority is vast, they will scrutinize every detail this time to prevent any electoral fraud in Bihar.
Earlier today, Yadav accused the Election Commission of India of colluding with the BJP to manipulate the voter list by issuing two voter ID numbers (EPIC) to its leaders and workers. Speaking at a press conference in Patna, he remarked, "We previously discussed Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha. Whether you call it a crime, a mistake, or an exposure, we have mentioned this before. Today, I want to inform you that the Election Commission is aiding the BJP and undermining opposition votes. BJP members are being issued not one, but two EPIC numbers within the same assembly constituency."
